Male Nurses Have Higher Pay

"The Census report points out that men have 'typically enjoyed higher wages and faster promotions in female-dominated occupations' – known as the 'glass escalator effect' (creating the effect that they are gliding past women as if on an escalator)."

  1. I find this to be a little upsetting -- that men still outearn women in female-dominated fields. Moreover, they get a premium because child care- and health-related work are skills and not a "natural extensions" to men. Women, just as men, had to learn about child and health care. And, both men and women develop natural "skills" when they have children and they, themselves, become parents.
